LINUX Open Source Operating System
Special Interest Group

The NMCS Linux SIG is a beginner's Linux group focusing on the desktop. We discuss all sorts of beginner topics like how to install Linux, how to get your hardware working, how to connect to the Internet, best practices, desktop applications, and more. If you're just beginning with Linux and need some hands-on guidance and support, this group is for you!

A cute penguin We meet on the second Tuesday of every month at 7 PM in the training classroom at Southwest Cyberport. Southwest Cyberport is located in the Tech Commons business park on the north side of Indian School Road just west of San Mateo. Take I-40 to the southbound San Mateo exit. Indian School is immediately south of I-40. Turn west on San Mateo. Tech Commons will be on your right less than one-tenth of a mile. Turn in the second driveway just before you reach the YMCA. Southwest Cyberport is at the bottom of the hill. The building is locked so ring the doorbell. Someone will be waiting to let you in and direct you to the classroom.
